Designed by Des Smyth & Associates and measuring 6790 yards from back tees, the par 72 course offers a unique experience to any discerning golfer. Ireland's only true island course and yet within 2 miles of Waterford city centre, it was laid out on 250 acres of lush parkland and incorporates 4 artificial lakes which fit well into the wooded landscape. A fine test of golf is assured by a course which demands both accuracy and length. The superb sand-based and well bunkered greens provide an excellent all year round challenge.

The view from the clubhouse is magnificent, embracing as it does practically the whole course with the lofty Comeragh Mountains in the distant background. On the site which is greatly undulating, inercepted by two streams, Capt. H.C. Tippet of Walton Heath has laid out as magnificant an 18 hole championship course as ever pleased the eye.

Attractive parkland course designed by the great James Baird who was Open Championship on five occasions. Waterford is particularly renowned for the quality of its greens and forit's friendly atmosphere. The first nine demands accuracy from the tee. The back nine is more forgiving and features a great stretch with a classic finishing hole. Here the drive is struck from an elevated tee, with a 360 degree view, to a narrow fairway which winds it's way downhill, between score threatening gorse, to a receptive green 400 yards away.
